Pure spring water from the heights of the Dachstein Mountains in the heart of Austria is one of the most important ingredients for Craft, de Sede's new collection of heavy, compact Loden fabric. Because Loden is fulled, a process whereby the wool is thickened with hot water, access to enough clean water is fundamental for delivering a high quality product. The woven fabric is kneaded when wet (fulled) until it reaches a high level of firmness and durability. Because wool fibres can store significant amounts of moisture, the fabric warms in winter and cools in summer.
Craft is breathable and dirt-resistant, robust and highly durable, and makes every piece of furniture inherently comfortable. It is available in carefully selected, attractive colour nuances in classic blends. Its colour palette allows for large inserts on sofas as well as clear, singular statements on armchairs. Craft’s subtle colours also promote exciting and stylish combinations with the untouched, sophisticated quality and colours of de Sede's leathers, whose soft and pleasant feel is a perfect complement to the Craft line.
Craft retains its shape, is easy to care for and self-regenerating. It is suited to private living areas, and – as raw wool has naturally flame-retardant properties – is also ideal for use in public spaces.
